Waveform Display
The audio file you are working with displays in a waveform format.
What is a waveform?
A waveform is a visual representation of a sound wave and is how an audio file displays after you import it into CD Spin Doctor or open it from your hard disk. It displays peaks and valleys that represent decibel levels of an audio file:
Where there is silence in a track, the waveform displays as a flat line.
The higher the decibel level, the more intense the waveform.
Audio channels
An audio file is made up of one or more channels. A stereo recording is made up of two channels.
Playhead
The Playhead indicates the current position of playback. You can drag it left or right to position it at a particular point in the waveform.
Ruler
The Ruler allows you to estimate the relative length of the audio file in the Waveform display.
Defined tracks within a waveform
Once you have opened or imported an audio file into CD Spin Doctor, you can define tracks within it. These tracks can be saved on your hard disk as AIFF files.
